Make up // L’OREAL PARIS

It’s not that long ago that I took part in the biggest fashion award show in Denmark, Elle Style Awards. Event though it wasn’t my first time, but actually the fourth, I was as always excited and nervous, in a good way! Would my outfit work, will my makeup last, who will sit next to me at the dinner?
It all turned out great, L’oreal Paris had invited me to join their beauty lounge so that my hair and make-up would be perfect. I chose to go for a very simple look with focus on a porcelain skin and a really strong brow-game paired with a modern . After L’oreal spiced us up, they brought Maria, Amalie and I to the event in an Audi, and they sat me right next to Maria at the dinner, thanks guys! If you wish to hear a bit more about my look and why Maria is my best date, read the (danish) interview here.

The key word to this styling is adding texture. When adding texture to my short hair it gives me a hairdo that I can work on and style all day.
The texture booster and salt water spray makes my hair easy to work with all day, without it getting greasy and flat. So dont be afraid to work your hands through your hair as long as you’ve prepared it with texture, saltwater and maybe dry shampoo if you skipped the wash! Perfect quick morning routine that last all through the day!

When I wear my hair like this the key is brushing it after applying the volume and texture. So lift your hair from the roots with dry shampoo, work it in with a your fingers and spray the rest of the hair with salt water. Brush your hair throughly and create the asymmetrical look by scraping your fringe to one side and free your ear. Perfect for a night out where you want the focus to be on  your eargame or a beautiful outfit.

This is a slightly androgynous and high fashion styling, created with just two simple tools, a texture cream and a brush. Start by brushing you hair, then move your hair away from your face with your fingers and the texture cream, once you feel like its swept back, but the cream is not yet dry, brush again into the shape you want. I wanted a back sleek, but you could also create a side sleek.

For these three looks I used products from Matrix, the same brand that was part of my whole make-over.
The products work really well with my scandinavian hair, and especially the texture features gives my hair a raw look that I’m really fond of!
I know a lot of you where really interested in how I would wear my hair, going from the really long hair to this short haircut.
And I can only say that I feel like this hair gives me more creative freedom to experiment, and that it fits my colorful and edgy style much better!

Beside getting treated as a queen in the hands of their hair stylist Mette, I was there to get a “hair-look” and to match up with the Matrix products for my new hairstyle.

Mette and I spoke about what we wanted my new look to be like, and words like quirky, fun, cool and colorful came to our minds. We spoke a lot about coloring it, and agreed to give it a hint of strawberry blond look. So it would still look cool when I’m wearing all my colorful clothing.

And after!

What do you think?
I really like this slightly shorter cut and lighter roots. My hair really turned dark when I cut it short, and I actually really missed being blonde instead of dark in-between thing. Mette luckily fully understood my needs, and I’m so happy with the result.
I’ll soon give you a few styling ideas, to give you a feeling of the looks I can create with this length of hair.
Stay tuned!

I’m starting with the liquid concealer covering my spots and black eyes, then I top of with just a bit of powder concealer for it to sit and last better._MG_9493

Then I shade in my cheekbones using the lightest shades in the kit, afterwards I highlight both with the Kat Von D kit and the liquid from Elisabeth arden and blend them nicely together._MG_9494

As my daily eyeshadow I useally wear the two shadows in the middle the beige and more grey brown colour. _MG_9495I always finish off with my babydoll but only on the top lashes.

This is a very light and clean makeup, I dont like wearing a lot and especially here in the fall/winter time I would feel bad about covering my skin to much, I know it’s already having a tough time settling with the dry air.
I like that even when I’m winter pale my skin structure is visible and many barely see that I’m wearing make up. My friends usually tell me how they want to be able to not wear makeup and still look good.
I think now that the biggest trend seem to be covering and then contouring your face like a mask, many actually find it more beautiful to be the best natural self, with a little help that light make up can give.

Hope you enjoyed my first real take on beauty looks, please let me know what you think!
